The "Amatų kalnelis" homestead is cozily nestled on a small hill in the very heart of the Šimonys forest, in the old village of Inkūnai. A few steps away stands the wooden Inkūnai church, a beloved spring of drinking water flows, and the bends of the Šventoji River and a wooden suspension bridge are just a few minutes' walk away.
All the buildings in the homestead are built according to old Lithuanian tradition – log walls, reed roofs, and beautiful shutters catch the eye of passers-by and invite them in.
Opening the beautiful gates, we enter the homestead yard.
A traditional pottery workshop is located in a small granary with carved columns. During the warm season, it transforms into a small hotel accommodating 4 people, and when the weather cools, it reverts to a creative pottery workshop. Here, Renata Umbrasienė, the owner of "Amatų kalnelis," sculpts her creations and shares her experience with those who wish to learn this craft. Children and adults come to try their hand at pottery, families or groups of friends visit, and workshops are held for birthdays, hen parties, or employees of small companies. The fired and glazed works are returned to their happy authors.
"Amatų kalnelis" has a national heritage certificate, testifying to its experience and craftsmanship.
For those staying longer, the hostess offers meals made from products from neighboring farms, leads experiential hikes through the forest, and offers sauna services.
